At the age of 19, she debuted her first single Here. It was a huge success and was praised by both listeners and critics alike. It reached the top spot at 19th on both the Canadian Hot 100 as well as Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone listed the hit as among the Top Songs of 2015. The same year, she dropped her debut album Know It All with the third track Scars to Your Beautiful being one of five original tracks that peaked at Billboard charts including The Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. Based on an interview she did together with Rap Up, this track had lots in the minds of many people who listened to her tale of finding acceptance and appreciation for yourself. Cara includes messages of kindness and loving yourself into her music. Every song Cara sings comes directly from her struggle with insomnia, mental illness and other health issues. According to Reuters' interview, she's said that her album was half turbulent but half perfected. Her growth was aided by therapy. She also encourages her fellow singers when they need to reach out for help. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on the 11th of July 1996. In 2010, her parents purchased her a brand new guitar that she was able to use to develop her passion for the music. She began covering her favourite songs at age thirteen to show the world she could sing and had the courage necessary to be a singer. In fact, one of the covers Sweater Weather was able to get her noticed by a record label called EP Entertainment which allowed her to create and write tracks.
